"Will you please come play in my room?" asked my two-year-old.
Well let's see...I can't see the couch because I have so much laundry to do. I have just about 30 minutes before the one-year-old is ready for me to rock him and maybe 10 minutes before my ten-year-old is ready for her next assignment. Can I go play? "I really don't have time to... but you know that I will." I enter her room and say "I am here, what would you like me to do?" She points to a chair for me to sit in. As I sit down I pick up a shirt to fold and put away. She sees me do this. I thought "Oh no - I am in trouble! She saw me cleaning!" But that's not what happened. She looked at me and said "Fold more?" She ran out of the room and came back with a handful of clothes. She handed them to me and said "Wait!" So I waited. She went to her "cook set" and got things ready and then looked at me and said, "Now." So I started to fold. I ran out of clothes and she ran and got more. It was so funny. But then the truth of the sitution hit me - she just waited to be with me. It did not matter if I was working on something else. She just wanted me to enter her room and be there. Then God spoke to my heart!
As a mother I have so many things to do - teach school, rock babies, clean house and play. I get so focused on those things that I forget in this very day that God has a purpose for me. That purpose may be different each day or like most days it is the same. But God is asking, "WILL YOU PLEASE... just come into my presence and remain there?" He does not care if I am folding clothes, teaching school. rocking babies, or playing. He just wants me to show Him that He is important enough to me for me to turn my gaze to Him.
So next time we feel God push on our hearts to be with Him, let's take the time to turn our eyes to Him in our busy days and say "Yes Father, I am here and here I want to stay." All he wants is to be close.

" WHAT DO YOU DO"
What do you do if you are sick and your house looks like it has been turned upside down?
So I have been sick for 4 days. I do believe it could be the flu... So don't get to close.
My house reflects how I feel. Like a big fat mess.
I do believe my kids are get smarter by the day. They have watch so much tv.
Just this morning my ten year old said she could not find her bible.
We are really lost now.
So what does a sick mother do?
